Interim Management

Postit

An ever increasing requirement here as markets become more diverse and competitive. Consequently managers move jobs frequently and often at relatively short notice. This will continue as the economic environment leads towards portfolio working.

We take our current job skills to whichever market needs them at the time. The knock on effect to all companies will be ever more increases in interregnums between appointments. During these gaps performance difficulties occur. Not so much with systems already in place but with people who become demotivated by not having a manager to turn to in the practical place of work. Current business plans need to budget for this situation in realistic terms. The consequence of doing nothing directly leads to discontent.

Interim Management is the provision of expertise as a holding scenario for specific periods of time. The aim is not to change systems, it is to manage, motivate and enthuse staff ready for the next appointment of a full time person. Sometimes the interim manager is asked to integrate the new appointee into the team to ensure smooth running.

Extensive experience in this growing area has shown that on completion of the assignment the team is in a far more productive and motivated environment than before. So it is worth considering with that, as an aim on it’s own.

Recent examples are... Managing a Government department of Democratic Services. A field Sales Force. Textile Production Unit. Medical Screening Company. Graphic Design. Training College. Waste recycling business.
